Hey, I like the look of the site… is this new? What’s this site going to be like?

Thanks a lot. The site’s been taking a while getting off the ground, but it’s getting there. I’ll have to make the “About” page explain everything more… The goal of the site is to make a place that gathers China-related news, opinion, reviews, and blog entries, and organizes it all in a very searchable, browsable way — you could say it’s a sort of hybrid of bookforum.com and artsandlettersdaily.com, but focused on China. For now, there are the three sections: Daily Record, Articles of Note, and Blogworthy. The Daily Record section will just be a quick summary of straight news and random links I find interesting, updated at least once a day on weekdays — it started out much more general, sort of like bookforum.com, but I’m now putting all the links to more issue-focused articles and essays in the Articles of Note and Blogworthy sections. My hope is that that makes everything very readable and skimmable. Everything in Articles of Note and Blogworthy is tagged by topic, source, and author, so eventually the Issues & Topics page will be very comprehensive, and there will be a way to browse the sources and authors, too. I don’t know of another site with the goal of organizing things this way, so I figured I’d be the one to do it. Oh, and down the road, maybe I will try to set up forums or other sections. I’ll have to see how well everything fits into what I’ve got so far. Hopefully it catches on. By the way, I like your site and your writing a lot. Always interesting. Thanks for noticing my site :)
